In 2016, chefs Nick Wiseman and Ronen Tenne left the fine dining world behind to start Little Sesame in Washington, D.C. With a passion for quality-over-everything and fun chef-driven flavors, they initially served freshly spun hummus from a small 500 sq ft pop-up location in the basement of their flagship restaurant. Fast forward to 2018, when they opened their flagship restaurant, marking a significant milestone in their growth journey.

Their freshly spun hummus is made using 100% regeneratively grown chickpeas sourced from organic farmer Casey Bailey on his 5,000 acre farm under the big sky in Fort Benton, Montana. In July 2021, Little Sesame launched their hummus at fourteen Whole Foods Market stores in the Mid-Atlantic region. This partnership marked an exciting new chapter for the brand as they expanded their reach nationwide. As part of this expansion, Little Sesame was honored to be selected as one of just ten brands for Whole Foods Market's LEAP Program, a internal brand accelerator.

Whole Foods Market customers across the country can now enjoy Little Sesame hummus in a range of flavors, including Smooth Classic, Jammy Tomato, Caramelized Onion, Herby Jalapeño, and the exclusive Pumpkin Chili Crisp hummus collaboration with Fly By Jing. This highly anticipated flavor is available exclusively at Whole Foods Market through the end of the year.
